Audit Manager – Internal Audit Leadership

About the role

The Audit Manager will lead the internal audit function, ensuring high‑quality audit services that support the organisation’s strategic objectives. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee audit planning, execution, and reporting across financial, operational, compliance and IT domains.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk‑based audit plans in line with the approved audit calendar.
• Scope audits, design audit programmes and allocate resources efficiently.
• Lead fieldwork, testing and evaluation of controls, ensuring audits are delivered on time and to quality standards.
• Review audit working papers, draft clear reports with root‑cause analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Engage with management to agree findings, ratings and remediation action plans.
• Present audit outcomes to senior management and governance forums.
• Monitor follow‑up actions and support regulatory reviews and external audits.
• Coach and develop audit managers and team members, managing performance and workload.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Risk, IT or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, FRM is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal or external audit, risk or assurance roles.
• Proven experience leading audit teams in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Banking or financial services experience is an advantage.
