Derrickman – Offshore Drilling Position

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Derrickman to support offshore drilling operations in Namibia. The role involves handling tubular equipment, running drill strings, and managing drilling fluid systems under the direction of the Driller or Assistant Driller.

Key responsibilities

• Rack and secure tubular equipment on the mast and assist in running the drill string into the hole.
• Operate drilling fluid pumps, mix chemicals and additives, and monitor fluid volume and properties.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required protective equipment, and ensure sub‑ordinates do the same.
• Participate in safety drills, emergency preparedness actions, and rig meetings.
• Apply Saipem and operator‑specific work and safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Derrickman, or 6 months as a Floorman plus 6 months as a Derrickman within the last 5 years.
• Valid IWCF (or equivalent) well‑control certification, even if expired.
• Valid BOSIET certification.
• Proficient English communication skills.
• Experience with drillship and dual‑activity operations.
