About the role
The Newcomer Youth Summer Academy (NYSA) needs a Summer Operations Intern to support the Youth Operations Team. This unpaid, hybrid position runs from May 11 to August 21, 2026, with a focus on data management, family communication, and event preparation for a six‑week program serving up to 135 refugee youth.
Key responsibilities
- Contact families to collect required paperwork and information before the program starts.
- Track, organize, and maintain student records and related documents.
- Create and distribute weekly Family Newsletters.
- Assist in preparing supplies, community events, and field trips.
- Support day‑to‑day operations during the NYSA program (Monday‑Thursday, 8:30 am‑3:00 pm).
Required profile
- Enrolled in a degree program or recent graduate with interest in humanitarian or nonprofit work.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally with families and team members.
- Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours.
